A major digital upgrade will make it easier to navigate Wellington County. The County has launched an upgraded version of its online mapping tool, called Explore Wellington.
The modernized GIS system is mobile-friendly, with faster load times and expanded accessibility features.
Municipal staff use the tool daily to support their roles, while residents and local businesses can use it to map out hiking trails, search for addresses, or locate points of interest like libraries, post offices, and community centres.
“Access to accurate, easy-to-use mapping information benefits everyone – from residents planning a walk on local trails, to municipal staff supporting daily operations, to businesses researching a new location,” commented Wellington County Warden, Chris White. “These improvements to Explore Wellington reflect the County’s commitment to providing innovative digital services that improve accessibility, collaboration, and customer service throughout Wellington County.”
The platform will also be able to support future growth and accept new datasets, mapping applications and interactive features as needs evolve.
