An ongoing scam in Owen Sound targeting businesses wanting to be vendors at the local farmer's market is being highlighted by police.
The Owen Sound Police Service warned on its social media accounts that a scam is occurring in which local businesses are asked to pay money up front to secure a vendor's spot at the Owen Sound Farmer's Market.
Police and the farmer's market are pointing out that there is no payment accepted up front to secure a spot as a vendor on the site, located at 88 8th Street East.
If you wish to enquire about becoming a vendor, you can reach out to [email protected] and go through the process of establishing a vendor booth with staff.
The Owen Sound Farmer's Market has been operating since 1936 and runs every Saturday from 8 a.m. until 12:30 p.m.
