The Municipality of South Huron is asking residents to conserve water for a few days this week as system undergoes maintenance.
The Lake Huron Primary Water Supply System is conducting a temporary shutdown of water service to member municipalities to complete watermain repairs.
South Huron said the work is scheduled to start at midnight on Tuesday, August 11 and is expected to be completed the same day.
The Municipality says its water system is designed with ample storage to continue providing regular service to all customers during temporary shutdowns.
However, as a reasonable risk mitigation measure, South Huron is asking residents to voluntarily conserve water use on Tuesday and Wednesday to allow the municipal system time to recharge.
The Ausable Bayfield Conservation Authority is already asking residents to cut back their water consumption, so activities like watering lawns, washing vehicles or filling backyard pools should can wait until later in the week.
