Stratford Police charged a man and impounded his BMW after he was found doing more than double the speed limit.
On Friday, July 31, officers were travelling eastbound on Perth Line 26 with their sirens on. According to police, the BMW failed to slow down and pull over for an emergency vehicle.
When officers tried to stop the vehicle, it sped away, allegedly reaching speeds over 200km/h. Stratford police didn't pursue the vehicle in the interest of public safety, but later identified the driver.
The 23-year-old from Brampton turned himself into police that evening.
The man is now facing charges for stunt driving and failing to stop for police. His vehicle was impounded for 14 days and driver's licence was suspended for a month.
