Update: Owen Sound beach advisory lifted

Grey Bruce Public Health says Kelso Beach at Nawash Park is safe once again for swimming.

The Health Unit issued a no-swim advisory on the Friday of the long weekend, due to bacterial levels exceeding Ontario Ministry of Health standards.

New water samples were taken on Tuesday, and results issued Wednesday showed it was safe for swimming.

“We’d like to extend our appreciation to the residents and visitors who adhered to the swimming advisory,” says Senior Public Health Manager Andrew Barton in a media release.
