Heavy rain expected in parts of Ontario

Environment Canada has issued a yellow rainfall warning for parts of Ontario.

The alert was put in place at around 2:45 p.m. on Saturday and is expected to last into the evening, possibly into Sunday.

Heavy rainfall and thunderstorms are expected to repeatedly move through areas including Sarnia-Lambton, Southern Grey County, Northern Grey County, Southern Bruce County, and Northern Huron County.

The alert says affected areas could see up to 80 milimetres of localized rain.

Environment Canada notes that water pooling on roads is likely. People are reminded to avoid driving through flooded roads and to stay indoors when weather gets severe.
