Barn fire near Teeswater drew at least ten fire services, says OPP

Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have acknowledged a mutual aid effort during a serious fire in South Bruce on Wednesday.

Officers from the South Bruce detachment responded to calls about the blaze soon before 7:30 a.m. on Friday, in the area of Concession Road 4 between Bruce Road 4 and Sideroad 25 near Teeswater.

Fire crews from the South Bruce Fire Department led the effort and were joined by at least ten departments from Bruce and Huron Counties.

During that time, the OPP maintained a road closure and ensured that emergency vehicles and the public could pass through the area safely. Police did ticket several drivers for refusing to obey the barricades.

No injuries were reported.

The area was reopened at around 3 p.m. on Wednesday.
