The Special Investigations Unit (SIU) has invoked its mandate and will look into an arrest that occurred in the Town of Hanover over two years ago.
According to a release from the South Bruce OPP, officers conducted a traffic stop on Grey Road 10 around 2:30 a.m. on May 13, 2024.
Police attempted to take one person into custody, but they allegedly fled from the area.
The individual was later taken into custody by police and reported sustaining injuries from the incident.
On Friday, July 24, 2026, the OPP was informed that the SIU invoked its mandate and will be investigating this incident.
South Bruce OPP said it will not be able to provide further information as the matter is now under investigation.
