Bruce Power's annual FunFest planned for next month promises to be extra special as the nuclear generator will formally mark its 25th anniversary.
The community event will be held at the Walkerton Arena from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on August 1. The celebrations will include reptile and magic shows, rock climbing, inflatables, musical entertainment, and activities with the Nuclear Innovation Institute’s Explore program. Free snacks and merchandise will also be available, while supplies last.
The festivities will end with fireworks at dusk at both Port Elgin and Kincardine beaches.
“This will be a fun-filled day for all ages,” Maggie Tieman, Bruce Power’s director of community and external affairs, said in a statement. “We look forward to this event in the community every year and are excited to continue the tradition in Walkerton this summer."
Bruce Power is encouraging those planning to attend to use the free shuttle service that will run throughout Walkerton as only barrier-free parking will be available on site.
