Brightshores Health System has a new person at the helm of its board, along with a trio of fresh faces.
The hospital corporation, which operates six facilities in Grey and Bruce counties, announced on Wednesday that Steven Green has been appointed chair of its board of directors. Green reportedly is an experienced healthcare leader who will use his insight to provide strategic oversight and governance, particularly as the 2026-2031 strategic plan launches.
“I am honoured to serve as Chair of the Brightshores Board of Directors at such an important time for the organization,” Green said in a statement. “Working alongside my fellow volunteer Board members, and with the dedication of our leaders, physicians, and staff, we look forward to supporting the delivery of high-quality, connected care for the communities we serve.”
Also appointed alongside Green were three new board members: Shawn Elliott, sn experienced nonprofit executive, Carol Gray, a former senior executive in the financial services industry, and Ted Squires, an entrepreneur and leader in the aerospace manufacturing industry.
All of the appointments were effective as of June 24.
Outgoing Board Chair Deborah Pope will continue to support the board in the role of "past chair," Brightshores said.
