A previous long-term care home is being revamped in Goderich.
Lasalle Goderich Retirement Residence announced it is opening after securing the old long-term care home located at 290 South Street.
"We saw a unique opportunity to give the building a new purpose," said co-owner Olivia Guidoccio. "Goderich has always stood out to us as an incredible place to retire."
According to owners, the family-run residence is already garnering attention from the Goderich community.
"It's been wonderful to see the enthusiasm from the community and we're really really looking forward to becoming a part of it and building lasting relationships with residents, families, local organizations and healthcare partners," Guidoccio continued.
The home will add roughly 25 jobs to the area, including nursing and personal support, dietary, housekeeping, maintenance, recreation, administration, and management positions.
The new retirement residence is set to have 64 suites in total with a mix of private and semi-private units. It will also have a range of affordable prices.
The team is currently modernizing the space by painting, updating the floors, bathrooms, and light fixtures.
The residence is expected to open at the end of August.
