Nominations open for Gateway Centre's Caregiver Recognition Event

The Gateway Centre of Excellence in Rural Health is accepting applications for its Caregiver Recognition Event.

Members of the public are being asked to nominate local caregivers that will be honoured with a Care and Compassion Award at the event on September 17.

The Gateway Centre is holding the event to "acknowledge and award local caregivers for the invaluable contributions they make to keep our communities healthy," according to a statement from the centre.

The term "caregiver" includes anyone in a caregiving role such as healthcare workers or informal caregivers. At the event, nominees will receive a Care and Compassion Award as well as a gift in recognition of their impact. The goal is to help caregivers feel seen, helping to address caregiver burnout and retain local healthcare providers.

Nominations are being accepted until August 1. It is free to nominate someone and free for the nominees to attend the event.

You can nominate a local caregiver who you feel deserves recognition here: https://www.gatewayruralhealth.ca/.
