Huron Hospice is getting ready to host its 10th annual Butterfly Release next month.
The annual event will be held on Sunday, August 30 from 2-4 p.m. in the gardens at Huron Hospice’s Bender House in Clinton.
This cherished event now celebrates a decade, where families gather and remember and honour loved ones through the symbolic release of butterflies. Representing hope, transformation, and renewal, the butterfly provides participants with a special way to celebrate the lives of those they have lost while sharing a moment of reflection and remembrance.
The ceremony this year will feature the names of loved ones being read aloud in tribute. Following the ceremony, participants have the option of releasing their butterfly into the gardens at the hospice, or they may choose to release it in a place that holds special meaning to them.
Funds that are raised through the Butterfly Release will be used to support Huron Hospice’s palliative care, grief, and bereavement services for families across Huron County.
