Mount Forest to host Volunteer Celebration and Newcomer Welcome

The Township of Wellington North will host a Volunteer Celebration and Newcomer Welcome event this fall in Mount Forest.

It will be held Thursday, September 17 between 11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. at the Mount Forest and District Sports Complex. Included at the event will be displays from local organizations and clubs, networking opportunities, the mayor’s welcome and a catered lunch being served at noon.

If you have recently moved to Wellington North, this is an opportunity to learn more about the community, ask questions and receive a welcome bag full of useful information and goodies.

This annual event falls in line with the beginning of Welcoming Week, which is "an annual opportunity that brings new and long-time residents together to build stronger ties," according to a media release from the Township of Wellington North. Welcoming Week runs from September 10-19.

This is a free event, however, registration is required, and can be completed at the following Eventbrite link until Wednesday, September 9:

"Volunteers are truly at the core of what makes Wellington North such a vibrant community. As we celebrate Welcome Week, we’re proud to recognize the dedication of our volunteers, warmly welcome new residents, and highlight the inclusive spirit that makes this a great place to live, work, and raise a family," said Mayor Andy Lennox. "Whether you’re new to the community or have been here for many years, I encourage you to join us for this special event."
