Nearly $40,000 worth of drugs, a crossbow, and a replica handgun were seized during a months-long drug trafficking investigation in Stratford.
Stratford police launched the probe, dubbed "Project Carlos," in the spring.
Through the investigation police determined controlled substances were arriving in the city from a supplier in London. On July 7, officers with the Stratford Police Service and London Police Service searched three homes in London.
The search turned up more than 534 grams of crystal methamphetamine, 11.2 grams of fentanyl, 20.7 grams of cocaine, 6 grams of crack cocaine, 271 hydromorphone pills, 43 codeine pills, 38 clonazepam pills, a crossbow with arrows, and a replica handgun. Over $9,500 in cash was also seized.
Police said the total street value of the drugs is estimated to be $37,634.
Five people were arrested and charged with drug offences throughout the investigations. A 32-year-old woman and a 53-year-old man, both from Stratford and a 37-year-old man from London were arrested in April. A 44-year-old man and a 45-year-old woman from London were arrested in July.
According to police, the 37-year-old was released from custody with a condition to wear a GPS monitoring device on his ankle. He reportedly cut the ankle monitor off and held the city in June. Police continue to search for the man.
