An animated family-friendly movie about a small goat with big hoop dreams will launch Owen Sound's outdoor summer movie nights.
GOAT, the one-hour-and-40-minute 2026 film produced by Golden State Warriors point-guard and four-time NBA champion Stephen Curry, will be shown at Kelso Beach at Nawash Park Amphitheatre on Friday night. It is the first of four movies the city will host under the stars throughout July and August.
The other showings are "Big Hero 6" at Community Waterfront Heritage Centre Greenspace on July 24, "Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu" at the Owen Sound Farmers' Market on August 14, and "Freakier Friday" at City Hall Front Plaza on August 28.
Each movie night will begin with pre-show activities starting at 7 p.m. with the movie to follow at dusk. The Roxy Young Company will provide storytelling and theatrical fun, while OSHARE will host games, challenges, and activities.
Moviegoers are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets to sit on.
