The Listowel Wingham Hospitals Alliance has provided more details on the upcoming move of Wingham’s outpatient lab services.
The outpatient lab is moving from Royal Oaks to a lower-level location inside Wingham Hospital, effective July 2.
Patients attending outpatient laboratory appointments will use the main hospital entrance and proceed to the lower-level lab area. The Alliance says signage and wayfinding will be in place to help direct patients.
Outpatient lab services will continue to operate during regular weekday hours by appointment. Most appointments will take place between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m., consistent with the current service model.
The Alliance says the move to the hospital could create opportunities to improve access in the future, including expanded hours, evening appointments, or walk-in availability.
However, no changes to the current appointment model have been finalized.
Officials say they will continue to monitor patient volumes and needs, and will communicate any future service changes when they become available.
