The recent Crossroads Safety Campaign by Perth County OPP resulted in over 60 charges being laid.
From June 15-21, Perth County OPP officers increased patrols at targeted intersections across the county with the goal of enforcing intersection related laws and educating the public.
During the campaign, officers responded to a pair of intersection-related crashes, and laid 66 charges under the Highway Traffic Act. That included charges for Disobey Stop Sign - Fail to Stop and Disobey Stop Sign - Stop Wrong Place.
The OPP did note that intersection related crashes are "completely preventable" according to Inspector Tyler Stewart, Perth County OPP Detachment Commander.
Police stressed that everyone has a part to play in ensuring that intersections are navigated safely and responsibly.
