Applications are now open for the Township of Wellington North's Community Grants and Donations program for 2027.
This program provides funding to enable local groups and organizations to "plan, develop and implement community development-based events, special activities and programs. The initiative should meet local needs, involve, and empower local people and have an aim of sustainability," according to a Township of Wellington North press release.
This year, applications can be made for the following types of grants:
A Signature Event with a maximum of $2,500 as a cash donation only. A Local Event with a maximum of $1,000 in the form of a cash donation or use of space. A Program grant with a maximum of $1,000 in the form of use of space only. Finally, a Special Activity grant can be awarded with a maximum of $1,000 as a cash donation only.
All applications for the 2027 intake must be submitted by September 30, 2026. Township staff will then review the applications and prepare a report for Council approval. All applicants will be notified of the decision by January 2027. In the 2026 intake, $40,000 was made available through the program.
