The Hanover Police Service arrested and charged one person following a recent theft from a local business.
According to police, on June 4, investigators received a report of a theft from a retail store in Hanover that saw $400 worth of merchandise stolen.
The investigation determined that a female suspect, who is known to police, used a bag to conceal the items and leave the store without paying. On June 5, Hanover police officers located and arrested a suspect at a residence in Hanover. Some of the items were recovered.
A 38-year-old Hanover woman is now facing a charge of theft under $5,000. She was later released on an undertaking with conditions. The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Walkerton to answer to her charges at a later date.
