Bruce Power and Bruce County Museum supporting Pride Month through local partnerships

During Pride Month, Bruce Power will be supporting a few key events throughout the region.

Bruce Power says that during June, the organization will be "partnering with local organizations across Bruce, Grey and Huron counties to support 2SLGBTQIA+ communities, bringing people together to foster inclusion, connection and a strong sense of belonging."

That includes the Huron County Pride Festival in Goderich on June 6 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Lions Harbour Park, the Owen Sound Pride Parade and Block Party on June 13 beginning at 3 p.m. at the Downtown River District, as well as the Kincardine Pride Parade on June 20 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Victoria Park.

Additionally, the Bruce County Museum will host "Museums are a Drag! An Evening of Drag Show" on Friday, June 12 from 6-9:30 p.m. as part of its Pride Month celebrations.

The 19+ event has tickets available now through the Bruce County Museum and Cultural Centre’s website at www.brucemuseum.ca or by calling 519-797-2080. Tickets are $40 for members and $50 for non-members.

"Pride Month is an important opportunity to celebrate what makes our communities stronger and show our commitment to inclusion in the communities where we live and work," said Karen Smith, Bruce Power's Chief Human Resources Officer and Senior Vice-President. "It’s about recognizing and valuing the differences that shape who we are and fostering a sense of belonging we build together. We’re proud to support local Pride events and stand alongside our community partners to create spaces where everyone feels welcomed, respected and supported for who they are."
