Public health officials in Grey-Bruce are asking for the public's help as they look for the owner of a dog involved in a biting incident in South Bruce Peninsula.
Grey Bruce Public Health (GBPH) says it happened Thursday, May 28, 2026.
"Between 9 and 10 a.m., a dog, described as a beagle weighing approximately 35 pounds, bit an individual on the boardwalk at the Oliphant Fen Trail," a statement from GBPH said. "Two young women were walking the dog at the time of the incident."
Staff at Grey Bruce Public Health need to confirm the dog involved in this biting incident is not infectious with rabies. By verifying the health of the dog, the victim can avoid receiving the post-exposure rabies treatment.
