Owen Sound police have reminded residents to stay calm and keep a safe distance from wildlife after a startled deer broke into an apartment unit.
Officers were at the building for an unrelated call when the deer jumped through a ground-floor apartment window.
Police report one woman sustained minor scrapes to her arm.
According to police, the animal was startled by screaming and nearby activity. Officers removed the two women in the unit and opened the patio door to help the animal escape.
The trespassing deer allegedly caused significant damage to a bedroom before jumping back out the window through which it came in.
"The deer appeared uninjured, just a little embarrassed," said officials.
Owen Sound officers have yet to disclose the other incident that they responded to.
