Police have charged a Grey Highlands man in relation to a collision that killed a dog and injured a person in Arthur last month.
Wellington County OPP began investigating the incident on April 9. Around noon that day, it was reported that a tractor-trailer heading northbound on Highway 6 attempted to turn right onto Frederick Street East, when it struck a pedestrian and their dog.
The person was airlifted to hospital with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries. The dog was declared dead on scene.
On Tuesday, police charged a 60-year-old from Markdale with careless driving causing bodily harm and failure to yield to a pedestrian on a roadway.
The accused is scheduled to appear in Guelph court at a later date.
