First responders in Perth County will be competing in a friendly competition for a good cause.
Starting Tuesday, police officers, firefighters and EMS personnel will take part in the Sirens for Life Blood Drive. The competition will see who among the Perth County first responders can donate the most pints of blood during the competition.
The ultimate goal is to donate blood and raise awareness for the ongoing need for blood and plasma donors. The competition will run from May 26 to August 31.
The Perth County OPP will be holding a kickoff event to bring awareness to this event on Tuesday from noon until 4 p.m. at the West Perth Community Centre in Mitchell. All are welcome to attend.
During the kickoff event there will be opportunities to talk to OPP Perth Detachment Command members, Community Engagement Officers, Auxiliary Members, and uniform officers.
