Brightshores to celebrate 11 years of Mental Health and Addictions Coffee House

Brightshores Health System will hold a free celebration to mark 11 years of the Mental Health and Addictions Coffee House.

On Tuesday, May 26, everyone is welcome to attend the event at the Owen Sound Farmer’s Market. The event will take place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in support of awareness of mental health and addictions in the community.

The coffee house will include live performances with music, poetry, and storytelling. There will be local vendors present, as well.

For 11 years, the Mental Health and Addictions Coffee House has offered a caring space where people can come together and share their stories while receiving compassion and dignity in a judgement-free zone.

"For 11 years, the Mental Health Coffee House has created a space where people are met with compassion, dignity, and a true sense of belonging," said Naomi Vodden, Director of Mental Health and Addictions Services at Brightshores. "It reflects what we know to be essential in mental health care—connection, kindness, and the opportunity for people to show up exactly as they are."
