A 19-year-old South Bruce Peninsula resident is facing impaired driving charges after police say they found a person asleep behind the wheel in Sauble Beach.
Grey Bruce OPP were called to a business parking lot on Main Street around 6 a.m. on May 17, 2026. Officers say they launched an impaired driving investigation after speaking with the driver.
Police say the accused was charged with operation while impaired by alcohol, operation with a blood alcohol concentration over 80 milligrams, and novice driver having a blood alcohol level above zero.
The driver also received a 90-day licence suspension and a seven-day vehicle impoundment. The accused is scheduled to appear in Owen Sound court at a later date.
