Farms, nurseries, cafés, a distillery, and other local businesses will be welcoming people who take part in this year's Taste Real's Spring Rural Romp.
Wellington County's Economic Development Committee helps to run the event that invites the public to come and explore local farms and rural businesses while learning about local agriculture and food production.
The Spring Rural Romp this year has a record 18 stops throughout Wellington North, Mapleton, and Minto. All locations will welcome visitors from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., with select stops offering extended hours.
Participants will be able to tour local farming operations, meet local producers, have interactive rural experiences, and purchase goods like plants, seedlings, flowers, spring produce, and a wide range of locally made products.
People are also encouraged to join the Rural Romp Treasure Hunt by answering a question at each stop they visit for a chance to win one of three $100 gift certificates to a local food business. The event will take place on Saturday, May 30.
Rural Romp maps will be available at participating locations two weeks before the event and can also be downloaded online. To plan your route and explore the full list of participating locations, visit www.tastereal.ca.
