Government giving $365k to local events and festivals in Perth-Wellington

A number of local festivals and events in Perth-Wellington are splitting $365,000 in cash.

Perth-Wellington MPP Matthew Rae announced the funding yesterday for the events in his riding, stating in a press release that the provincial government put forth the cash from the 2026 Experience Ontario program.

Rae's statement also claimed that this funding "will also help organizers expand programming and draw visitors to stay longer in Perth-Wellington. Increasing stays in local accommodations, guests in restaurants, shoppers at local retailers and overall, support main street businesses."

Events splitting the cash include the Stratford Festival's 2026 Season, Stratford Tourism Alliance's Lights On Stratford, Stratford Summer Music, Hayloft Music Festival, the Here For Now Theatre Company and the SpringWorks Festivals.
