The West Grey Police Service held the official grand opening of its new police facility on Friday.
The service said the day marks a significant milestone in the delivery of modern policing services to the community.
The nearly $9-million facility has been designed to better support frontline operations, improve working conditions for staff, and enhance overall service to the community.
Built buy Domm Construction, work on the new building started in summer 2024, and wrapped up earlier this year. An open house for the community was held in late February.
"I want to acknowledge and thank everyone who contributed to making this facility a reality, including municipal leadership, Council, project partners, contractors, and our own staff who supported the project at every stage," said Jeremy White, Chief of Police. "The result is a modern, functional building that reflects the professionalism of this service and the community we serve. This facility meaningfully improves our operational capacity and working environment, and it enhances our ability to deliver effective policing services to the residents of West Grey."
The station is located next to the new paramedic base, just off Grey Road 4 at the west end of Durham.
