Juried Exhibition of Fine Art features work from artists across Midwestern Ontario

A cornerstone of the region’s cultural calendar opens Thursday at the Wellington County Museum and Archives.

The Insights Juried Exhibition of Fine Art has returned for 2026, showcasing artistic talent from Wellington, Dufferin, Grey, Huron, and Perth Counties

The Elora Fergus Arts Council exhibition features work selected through a professional jury process, drawing submissions from both emerging and established artists across the region. The carefully curated collection brings together a diverse mix of voices, styles, and mediums

The works display technical skill and craftsmanship, and represent the unique perspectives that define the area’s artistic landscape, showing the depth and creativity of the local arts community.

The show has been running for over four decades, intending to foster a deeper appreciation for the role art plays in community life while providing a platform for artists to share their work with a broader audience.

The exhibition officially opens with a reception on Thursday evening, with more than 35-hundred dollars in prizes to be awarded to selected artists. The exhibition is open to the public during regular museum hours until June 28, with admission offered by donation.

Visitors will also have the chance to gain additional insight into the selection process during the “Walk with the Jurors” event on April 25. This guided experience allows attendees to hear directly from the jurors about how decisions were made and what set certain pieces apart, offering a unique perspective on the exhibition as a whole.

People can also vote on their favourite work. Ballots collected throughout the run will determine the recipient of the People’s Choice Award, which will be announced on June 19.
