Central Huron offering a taste of food from around the world

Central Huron is once again offering a chance for people to go on a culinary journey without leaving Clinton.

The Around The World In Central Huron 2026 Food Event takes place on Saturday at the Central Huron Community Centre in Clinton

Municipal Community Improvement Coordinator Angela Smith explained the event will tempt the taste buds of participants from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

"You will receive a passport, and then you will find a series of booths set up, similar to a trade show," she added. "But each booth is taken care of by a family in the community, and they have created their favourite dish from their heritage for you to taste."

This year's lineup features food from thirteen countries, including three making their very first appearance: Ireland, Barbados, and Morocco.

Returning favourites will feature food from Ukraine, Scotland, Hungary, Germany, India, Holland, the Philippines, Poland, Jamaica, and Canada.

The Municipality of Central Huron organized the event, with support from the Huron County Immigration Partnership. Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada provided partial funding. All proceeds go to the Clinton Hospital Foundation.
