Owen Sound Police have charged one man with assault after a Tuesday night fight that has been spreading around social media.
Just before midnight, police responded to a disturbance on a downtown street involving several people.
According to police, an on duty security guard who was in the area checking a nearby building, observed the incident and attempted to intervene.
Allegedly, during this intervention, the security guard was assaulted. Other people in the area assisted in pulling the accused away from the victim, and police were called.
Both the accused and the security guard sustained minor injuries.
As a result of the investigation, a 35-year-old Owen Sound man has been arrested and charged with assault.
The accused is scheduled to appear in the Owen Sound court in July
