Bruce County set to hold first household hazardous waste collection of 2026

Bruce County is once again welcoming residents to drop off household hazardous waste materials at a drop-off event on May 2.

The drop-off will happen at the Southampton Works Yard, 429 Peel Street, in Southampton from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. This is an opportunity for residents to clear out hazardous material from homes, garages or basements and make sure it’s handled responsibly.

Items that can be dropped off include paints and stains, aerosols and solvents, propane tanks, fuel, used oil and oil filters, batteries and antifreeze, household cleaners, fluorescent lights, fertilizers and pesticides, pool chemicals, pharmaceuticals and fire extinguishers
