Bruce County named a top 100 Southwestern Ontario employer for second year

Bruce County has been named one of Southwestern Ontario's 100 best employers for a second straight year.

A media release from the county states that the annual Top 100 Employers competition "recognizes employers that lead their industries in offering exceptional places to work."

The competition assesses organizations on a few key areas. That includes workplace environment, work atmosphere, employee benefits, vacation policies, professional development, and community involvement.

Bruce County had a few things highlighted in their assessment as one of the province's top 100 employers. First, the pregnancy, parental, and/or adoption leave top‑up and wellness benefits for employees. Second, the defined benefit pension plan and retirement planning support. Finally, the workplace mental health program and employee assistance resources was also highlighted as a major plus for Bruce County as an employer.

The County also says that one of the four pillars of the Bruce County Strategic Plan 2023-2026 includes actions to strengthen the culture and capacity of the organization.
