Four injured in Mapleton collision

Four people were taken to hospital and one driver has been charged after a serious collision south of Arthur on Monday.

On April 13, around 3:45 p.m., emergency services responded to the report of a two-vehicle collision on Highway 6 between Sideroad 18 and 19 in Mapleton Township.

According to Wellington OPP, one vehicle attempted to pass another vehicle and went into a ditch.

Police say one person suffered major, non-life-threatening injuries, while another received minor, non-life-threatening injuries. Two other people involved suffered minimal injuries, and all were taken to local hospital.

As a result of the investigation, a 58-year-old from Kitchener, has been charged with careless driving causing bodily harm.

The accused is scheduled to appear before in Guelph at a later date.

Police remind the public that if they have an urgent traffic complaint or suspect someone is driving while their ability to operate a vehicle is impaired by drugs or alcohol, to call 911 immediately.
