As the weather warms up and days get longer, boaters are looking toward the upcoming season.
But before they can hit the water, they need to acquire the appropriate permits.
The Township of Georgian Bluffs has announced that boat launch permits are now available for the 2026 boating season for those who want to set sail on Georgian Bay.
The available permits are for the Balmy Beach Boat Launch and the Big Bay Dock. They can be ordered online at www.georgianbluffs.ca/boatlaunch.
The facility at the Balmy Beach Boat Launch officially opens for the season in May, offering a convenient access point to the water until October. Meanwhile, Big Bay Dock, which is located in the village of Big Bay, is known to be a favourite launch point for boaters, kayakers, and other water enthusiasts. Both launch points are located just off Grey Road 1.
