Perth-Wellington MPP Matthew Rae has announced nearly $883,000 in transit funding for his riding.
The funding comes from the Gas Tax Program. The money can be used to expand service hours, increase routes, purchase new vehicles, and improve accessibility to increase transit ridership.
According to Rae, the Gas Tax Program rates for 2025-26 are being maintained at the levels from 2024-25. He also claims that the provincial government is investing over $380 million in 107 municipalities across Ontario to help improve local transit.
North Perth, Perth East, West Perth, Stratford, and St. Marys are all splitting the announced funding.
