Students across the region are gearing up for the 25th annual Grey Bruce Children’s Water Festival, happening May 20–22 in Chesley.
Co-coordinator Taylor Flett said the goal is to help both children and adults deepen their appreciation for water and the environment we all share.
"So we'll be bringing in over 1,000 Grade 4 students from across Grey and Bruce," Flett explained. "We have over 40 activities there, for the kids to learn about water protection, water conservation, science and technology."
With interactive displays, educational activities, and expert volunteers on site, this year’s event promises new ways for students to learn about water use, conservation, and environmental impact.
Organizers encourage local residents to support the event through sponsorships, helping ensure the continuation of this program for years to come. Flett shared that there is also a contest underway.
"So we currently have our 25th Anniversary Logo Design Contest on both our Facebook and Instagram pages. It's running until March 31st" added Flett. "The winner would receive a merchandise package with their logo on it. The winning logo would be displayed at our Festival and on our social media."
Registration information is distributed directly to local schools or through the school boards.
