Volunteers are being invited to take part in a spring cleanup along the Middle Maitland River in Listowel.
The Middle Maitland Rejuvenation Committee will host its annual cleanup event on Saturday, April 25, 2026 starting at 9 a.m., with participants meeting at the municipal building parking lot on Wallace Avenue North.
Organizers say the event is aimed at clearing out debris left behind over the winter and helping protect the local environment.
"Calling all volunteers! It’s time for our annual spring cleanup," the group said in a social media post. "Join the Middle Maitland Rejuvenation Committee and your neighbours to help clear out the winter debris and keep our local waterway healthy and beautiful."
Participants are encouraged to bring gloves, waterproof boots, a refillable water bottle and weather-appropriate clothing. Cleanup supplies, including garbage bags, will be provided.
The committee says the event is family-friendly, with high school community service hours available for students who take part.
