Frigidaire gas ranges recalled

Owners of certain Frigidaire gas oven ranges should take immediate precautions, with thousands of models under a safety recall.

Health Canada said the issue affects specific gas oven burner components that may pose a risk if they malfunction during use. The concern is that the defect could allow gas to leak or not burn properly, creating a risk of fire or exposure to dangerous gases.

"As of March 11, 2026, the company has received three reports of incidents in Canada, including one injury," noted Health Canada. "In the United States, the company has received 59 reports of incidents, including 30 injuries."

Owners of certain Frigidaire, Frigidaire Gallery and Frigidaire Professional models should stop using the affected oven burners right away and check whether their appliance is included by reviewing the model and serial numbers listed in the notice.

If a unit is part of the recall, owners are being directed to contact the manufacturer for repair, replacement, or further instructions.

"The company reported that approximately 5,318 units of the affected products were sold in Canada and approximately 174,800 units were sold in the United States," according to the Health Canada notice. "The affected products were sold from approximately June 2025 to January 2026."

Safety officials said improper gas combustion in appliances can lead to serious hazards, including fire or carbon monoxide exposure. Consumers are also being reminded to never attempt repairs themselves and to ensure gas appliances are used only as directed while the recall is addressed.

The products were manufactured in the United States by Electrolux. For more details and to determine if a specific unit is affected, consumers can refer to the official recall notice and follow the instructions provided by the manufacturer.
