Upcoming job fair a one-stop shop for those looking for work

Job seekers and those considering a career change will have a chance to mingle with local employers in Kincardine next month.

The municipality, in partnership with the Kincardine and District Chamber of Commerce and the County of Bruce, will hold a job fair and career expo at the Davidson Centre from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on April 9. The event will feature local businesses and organizations, though the list of participants has not yet been released. Those in attendance will be able to spend the three hours connecting and chatting with businesses hiring in the area.

"The Job Fair and Career Expo is all about connecting people to opportunity,” said the municipality's Community Economic Development Coordinator Evan Vatri. “It’s a chance to explore careers, meet employers, and find ways to get involved in the community.”

The job fair is free to attend with opportunities for full-time and part-time employment, summer jobs, and volunteer positions expected to be available.

The municipality hopes to build on the success of last year's job fair which drew a large crowd of job seekers.

Local businesses and organizations that want to take part can register online at www.kincardine.ca/JobFair. Each will be provided with an 8' table and chairs and is encouraged to bring promotional materials, signage, and giveaways.
