Charges laid in Arthur crash that left two injured

A three vehicle crash in Arthur that injured two people, sending one to hospital has resulted in a Port Colborne resident being charged.

Wellington County OPP say that on March 8 at 12:45 p.m., emergency crews responded to a three vehicle collision at the intersection of George Street and Charles Street East in Arthur. The collision involved two SUVs and a pickup truck.

As a result, a 45-year-old driver of one of the SUVs from Arthur sustained minor non-life-threatening injuries and was treated at the scene by paramedic services. A passenger in the other SUV, a 62-year-old from Bellwood, was sent to hospital as a precaution with minor, non-life-threating injuries.

Following an investigation, police have charged a 60-year-old driver from Port Colborne with careless driving.

Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the crash or who has any dash cam footage to contact Wellington County OPP or Crime Stoppers.
