St. Marys International Women’s Day celebration to focus on self-care

Women will be celebrated at a special event being planned for next month in St. Marys.

The St. Marys Friendship Centre will host an International Women’s Day celebration from 1 p.m. to 3:15 p.m. on March 9. The afternoon will include women-inspired trivia, a health-focused TED Talk on the importance of exercising as you age, and a presentation from bestselling author and motivational speaker Rosita Hall. The aim of Hall's talk will be to inspire attendees to master the art of resiliency and self-care.

“We’re excited to welcome residents to the Friendship Centre for an afternoon dedicated to celebrating women,” said Senior Services Wellness Coordinator Eliza Reid. “International Women’s Day is an important occasion to recognize the strength of women in our community and beyond. We hope everyone will join us for this special celebration as we acknowledge the contributions of women and encourage one another to continue building a supportive and inclusive community.”

Those interested in attending can pre-register at www.townofstmarys.com/internationalwomensday2026 or by calling the Friendship Centre at 519-284-3272. Entry is by cash or non-perishable food donation.
