An event to celebrate local volunteers and newcomers to Wellington North will soon be held in Arthur.
The Township of Wellington North says the celebration will take place on Wednesday, April 15 from 4:30-7 p.m. at the Arthur and Area Community Centre.
This celebration corresponds with National Volunteer Week, which runs from April 19-25. There will be displays from various community organizations, a welcome from Mayor Andy Lennox, presentations, and a cake cutting at 5 p.m.
A catered dinner will also be served at 5:30 p.m. The township is inviting anyone who recently moved to Wellington North to come out and learn about the community, ask any questions you may have and receive a welcome bag with relevant local information and goodies.
This event is free to attend but registration is required. You can do so at the following Eventbrite link up until April 8: https://WN2026VolunteerCelebration.eventbrite.com
You can also register by contacting Mike Wilson at mwilson@wellington-north.com or 519-848-3620 ext. 4236.
"Volunteers are the heart of Wellington North, and we look forward to recognizing and celebrating volunteerism in our community, and also welcoming our new residents and showing that Wellington North is a great place to live, work and raise a family," said Mayor Andy Lennox. "We encourage you to come out and join us on April 15 at the Arthur and Area Community Centre."
