Midwestern Ontarians will be shoveling out by Wednesday morning.
An Alberta Clipper is expected to move across the region Tuesday night, dumping 5 to 10 centimetres of snow.
Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for all of midwestern Ontario warning of reduced visibility in areas of heavier snow.
"Roads and walkways will likely be difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow," the national weather agency said. "Prepare for deteriorating travel conditions."
Drivers who chose to venture out in the snow are advised to leave extra time to get where they are going.
The snow will taper off after midnight. However, another 2 to 4 centimetres of the white stuff will come Wednesday when flurries begin to fall late in the morning.
