Two injured in Mitchell 'structure' collapse

Perth County OPP say two people suffered injuries in a "structure" collapse in Mitchell.

On February 9 at 3:30 p.m., emergency crews were called to Huron Street, where the collapse occurred.

Police confirmed that two people suffered non-life threatening injuries as a result of the collapse, and they were treated at a local hospital.

Perth County OPP have not specified what type of building collapsed, or what the cause of the collapse was. When asked for more information, the OPP declined to offer more, saying the investigation is now in the hands of the Ministry of Labour.

Contacted by CKNX News Today, the Ministry of Labour would only release the following statement.

“On February 9, 2026, the Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development was notified of a workplace incident in Mitchell. A ministry investigator is assigned to investigate. As the investigation is ongoing, no further details are available at this time.”
