Huron Perth Public Health is trying to track down a dog and its owners after an incident in Goderich.
According to public health officials, the incident involving the large breed of dog happened on the Menesetung Trail between 1 p.m. and 1:15 p.m. on Sunday. They did not specifically state that the dog bit a person, but that they need to check the animal's rabies vaccination status as a result of the incident.
The dog is described as being grey with medium length hair. It was being walked on a leash by a man and a woman. The man was wearing a black coat, while the woman had on a light grey coat.
Anyone with information about the dog or its owners is asked to call the health unit at 1-888-221-2133 ext. 3670.
Public health officials are using the incident as a reminder to the public to always take down the contact information of people whose pets have bitten or scratched another person or animal.
