Bruce County encouraging aspiring entrepreneurs to apply for Summer Company Program

Bruce County is inviting any young and aspiring entrepreneurs to sign up for the annual Summer Company Program.

The yearly program is funded by the provincial government and delivered by Business to Bruce.

It is designed to provide young entrepreneurs aged 15-29 with the means to launch their own business over the summer. Participants will receive training, mentorship, and funding they need to succeed.

Each Summer Company entrepreneur benefits from a $3,000 grant to start their business, comprehensive business training on topics like sales, marketing, bookkeeping, as well as mentorship from experienced local business leaders.

Since its inception in 2017, the Summer Company has supported 42 young entrepreneurs.

"Starting a new business can feel daunting, but with the right support, the entrepreneurial journey becomes an exciting and achievable adventure," said Heather Hyde, Manager of Economic Development at Bruce County. "We are pleased to again offer young entrepreneurs guidance and support to help them launch their own businesses through the Summer Company program."

Interested students are encouraged to submit an application at www.businesstobruce.com/summer-company-program-and-grant and learn more about the impact of the Summer Company program from a former grant recipient, Daxton Brunet, in: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uL6wDTLXpd0
