The Saugeen Shores Job and Career Fair will return next month, bringing dozens of employers together with job seekers looking for everything from summer work to long-term careers.
The event will take Tuesday, February 17, 2026 at the Port Elgin Legion, with doors open from 4 po.m. until 7 p.m.
Jon Fee, Executive Director of the Saugeen Shores Chamber of Commerce, says the fair reflects strong demand for workers in the local market. "In Saugeen Shores, there’s always a lot of employers that are looking for employees" Fee said. "The employment rate here is quite low compared to some other markets, so we’re really trying to connect employers with people who are looking for work."
Fee says while seasonal jobs are part of the mix, the fair also includes employers hiring for long-term positions. "Jobs for summertime employees are part of it, but we’re also having vendors that are looking for people interested in long-term careers" he said.
Last year’s event featured more than 30 employers, including restaurants, golf courses, and organizations offering career and resume support. "It’s really a phenomenal event" Fee said. "It connects hundreds of people with a good cross-section of employers."
Fee says early in the year is an ideal time to host the fair, particularly for students and those planning ahead. "There’s reading week, colleges are off, and it gives people that opportunity to connect" he said.
For anyone unsure about attending, Fee says there’s no substitute for face-to-face interaction. "There’s no better way to get connected with employers than to see them face to face and actually have that conversation" he said.
Employers can still register for the fair, with limited tables available at a cost of $40 for chamber members and $60 for non-members. Dinner is included.
